While the Eighties had it's share of excess it also had an amazing amount of incredible guitarist come into the spotlight. The hair has high, the pants were tight but these guys (and gals) could play. It would also be the birth of the term shred to cover instrumentalist that joined in the decade of decadence. Following the lead of Eddie & Randy, it would become an amazing time for rock & metal guitar.
